Adventures

“The best journeys are those from which the outcome is uncertain”

Here at Blue Mountain Adventures we offer a bespoke 28 day emergency provision for young people aged 10-18 which is specifically developed for children and young people with more intense and individual needs who have found it difficult to settle in a regulated provision. We provide a minimum staffing ratio of 2 staff to 1 young person to best support and nurture individual needs.

Staff receive therapeutic training and are highly resilient. The provision specialises in working with young people who may have had a range of experiences including extremely challenging behaviour, multiple placement breakdowns, problems with social integration.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment whilst offering a flexible and engaging outdoor activity programme which can include such activities as Camping, Walking, Caving, Bike riding, Canoeing, White water rafting, Go-karting, Mountain hikes, Climbing, Zip wires, paddle boarding, kayaking to name a few.

AIM – What are we doing?

To make a difference to children’s lives – through exposure to and participation in outdoor activities.

OBJECTIVES – How do we achieve this?

Providing a safe, caring, friendly and professional environment to support all young people in their journey – irrespective of past history.

Be an exemplar in every respect – lead by example.

To check, challenge and inspire.

To go the extra mile whilst defining and exploring boundaries – To push beyond perceived boundaries.
